Confucius Temple (Kong Miao)
Located in Guozijian Street, this is the second largest Confucian temple in China, second only to the temple at Confuciuss hometown of Qufu in Shandong province. It was built over 700 years ago, used as a place of paying respect to Confucius until 1911. The temple has four courtyards, and houses a rich collection of cultural relics and objects of art from the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and some ancient trees.
Lama Temple (Yong He Gong)
This is one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. Built during the Qing Dynasty in 1694, it was in 1722 that the building was transformed into a lamasery for monks of Tibetan Buddhism. It is renowned for three copper statues of Buddha, carved from a single sandalwood tree standing 18 meters high.
Hutong tour
The word "Hutong" came from the Mongolian language about 700 years ago. It originates from the word "hottog" in Mongolian meaning "water well." As the passage formed by lines of siheyuan (quadrangle) where most Beijing residents live, Hutong is one of the unique special features in Beijing, attracting tourists from all over the world rather than the modern buildings. One Hutong connects with another, and siheyuan connects with siheyuan, to form a block, and blocks join with blocks to form the whole city.
Olympic Park
Built specifically for the 2008 Beijing Summer Games, the Olympic Park lies on the citys ancient central axis. The park contains the National Stadium "Birds Nest" and National Aquatic Center"Water Cube".
